Visitors can enjoy the experience of a 5-day market in Shan State whey they can buy the fresh farm produces like vegetables, fishes, flowers, fruits, and crafts by different ethnic nationals. Most of the shoppers come to the bazar by their own boat and sell their goods in the market, navigating through scarce boat parking. The market opens once every 5 days in different location, and the market day is the most important day for the region. Mine Thauk market is on the east bank of Inle Lake, and on the market day, hill tribes nearby and the local people gather to buy, sell and socialize at the market.
Another famous market is floating Market, located on the largest canal of Ywama Village. It is the largest village with canals webbing throughout. Local people bring vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, cheroots, local dries, local food, and souvenirs for tourist on their boat to be sold. You will also find craft shops for weaving, silversmith, and carving.
