CULTURAL EXPRESS (5 Days/ 4 Nights)

Day-1: Yangon Arrival (Morning Flight)

Upon arrival at the airport, after clearing immigration and customs, meet with your guide with a welcome signboard and transfer for about 30 minutes to the hotel for check in.

Your journey begins with a colonial city tour, first stop with a visit to Sule Pagoda which was made the centre of Yangon by Lt. Alexander Fraser when he created the present street layout of Yangon soon after the British occupation in mid- 19th century. With its unusual octagonal design, Sule Pagoda is enlarged to its present size by Queen Shin Sawpu (1453–1472). The surroundings are Mahabandoola Garden on one side and interesting historical buildings of government and law courts on the other side.

Next, we will visit Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda - with a 70-metres reclining Buddha statue and in late afternoon, we will proceed to the great Shwedagone Pagoda, the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash and giant spires. You will spend the sunset at the Shwedagon Pagoda which Rudyard Kipling famously called "a golden mystery upheaved itself on the horizon, a beautiful winking wonder that blazed in the sun".

Day-2: Yangon – Bagan (Morning Flight)

Morning transfer to Yangon Airport for a flight to Nyaung-U. On arrival, visit to the morning market in Nyaung-U. Then, a full-day excursion of the World Heritage Site, Bagan, with a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; the Wetkyiin Gu Byauk Gyi Temple; as well as the elegant Htilominlo temple, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes; the Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images; Ananda Okkyaung, a small red brick monastery, located inside Ananda compound from built during 1137 A.D. At the inner walls are covered in 18th century paintings; famous Dhammayangyi Temple; and Sula Mani Temples. After lunch, recharge with a short-rest at the hotel and in the afternoon, a visit to Myinkaba, two kilometres south of Bagan. This village is well known for its lacquerware workshops and also a number of interesting temples such as Nanphaya Temple, said to have once been the residence of King Manuha. Then, continued on to Myinkaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple with amazing frescoes inside, the site is said to be where the only cave pagoda in the neighbourhood once located. Enjoy your soothing sunset at Shwesandaw Pagoda.

Day-3: Bagan - Mandalay (Morning Flight)

Morning flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, a drive to Amarapura and visit Mahagandayon Monastery, a famous Buddhist learning center where we will observe a thousand monks taking their final meal of the day in total silence. Proceed to a traditional weaving workshop where craft-women the ancient art of silk and cotton weaving using handlooms and U Bein Bridge, over 150 years old.

In the afternoon, a visit to the famous Mahamuni Pagoda; Shwenandaw monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Atumashi monastery; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's Biggest Book; and Mandalay Hill for enjoying the sunset.

Day-4: Mandalay – Heho – Inle Lake (Morning Flight)

Morning transfer to the airport to take the flight to Heho. Arrival at Heho airport, drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gate way of Inle Lake which is about 2 hours from the airport. On arrival Nyaung Shwe jetty and transfer to hotel by a private boat. Inle Lake is often called the “Venice of the East”. Take some time to see the floating gardens and observe the lifestyle of the local people. Watch carefully and you can see boatmen paddle their craft with an oar using their foot. Then visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and its 5 holy Buddha images.

In the afternoon, visit to Inn Paw Khone weaving village and Floating gardens of Hydroponics system (tomato and others vegetables).

Finally visit Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, one of the most impressive of the many monasteries on the lake with its 150-200 pillars with elaborate wooden carvings.

Day-5: Inle Lake – Heho - Yangon (Morning Flight)

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, if we have time, we will be taking you for last minute shopping at Bogyoke Aung San Market - best known for its colonial architecture, inner cobblestone streets and wide selection of souvenirs. But with all the things are you already seen in up country (Bagan-Mandalay-Inle), you may want to enjoy your free time until your flight out of Myanmar. Today we will say goodbye to you at the airport.
