Giving you an opportunity to explore one of Myanmar’s most ancient capital while you are in the new capital, this package is designed to give you historical insight into Myanmar. Exploring all the cultural highlights, you will discover the diverse arts and sceneries from our most famous heritage site of Bagan from the 11th century, followed by a visit to the mystical Mt. Poppa

Mystic Bagan (2 Days/ 1 Night)

Day-1: Nay Pyi Taw to Bagan)

Pick-up from your hotel early in the morning to set off to Bagan for a day of sightseeing. There are diverse selection of the pagodas and temples to choose from, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; the Wetkyiin Gu Byauk Gyi Temple; the elegant Htilominlo temple, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes; the Ananda Temple, with four huge standing Buddha images; and Ananda Okkyaung, a small red brick monastery located inside Ananda compound which was built in 1137 A.D. Continue to famous Dhammayangyi Temple and Sula Mani Temples. Enjoy your soothing sunset at Shwesandaw Pagoda.

Day-2: Bagan to Mt Poppa and Nay Pyi Taw

After breakfast, we start the day with a visit to Myinkaba, two kilometres south of Bagan. This village is well known for its lacquerware workshops and has also a number of interesting temples, such as Nanphaya Temple, which is said to have once been the residence of King Manuha. Then, continue on to Myinkaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple with amazing frescoes inside, the site is said to be where the only cave pagoda in the neighbourhood once stood. Then a driving excursion to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its shrines dedicated to animist spirits known as “Nats”. For the energetic, time to climb up the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the volcanic plug. Enjoy the scenic view where you can see Bagan on a clear day and soak in the mystical ambiance that Poppa has to offer. From Mt. Poppa, we will drive back to NayPayiTaw.
